Bio

Lee Shupp is a singer/songwriter/guitarist who writes and performs swampy roots rock. His music features a rich baritone voice, catchy melodies, growling guitars, and infectious dance grooves.
Lee is working on his third solo record, title TBD. His previous records, Rise Up (2023) Resurrection Roadhouse ((2021) have generated enthusiastic reviews and a loyal following. Before going solo, Lee contributed lead vocals and songwriting to his previous band’s recordings, including Bay Area favorites Bodacious and Bohemian Luv Jones.
Lee plays electric shows with his full band as well as acoustic shows in smaller venues. He is known for his energetic stage presence and love of audience interaction. Lee has played stages all over the Bay Area, including the Fillmore, the Haight Street Fair and countless clubs and street fairs. One of his favorite nights was opening for the legendary Cramps on Halloween at the Fillmore on a night when the spirits were definitely out.
Growing up in the rich cultural gumbo of Texas, his influences span the musical spectrum, including rock, blues, funk, punk and country. Lee grew up on a bayou in Houston and cut his teeth in the vibrant South Texas music scene. He moved to Austin, where he played in many different bands as part of the wonderfully creative Austin music community. Lee then came west to San Francisco, where he enjoys the diversity of the Bay Area music scene. His music reflects both his Texas roots and his Bay Area influences.
